This time of year is always crazy for us, with harvest and back to school I find myself wondering where the time goes most days. While my husband, Colton, spends his days from 8am to dang near 12am in the field, I am left to do everything else on my own.
Now I’m not complaining, but I will say that these days make me extra appreciative for the time he is home! Today it is raining so he gets a little break. The first thing he does when he gets home is takes Brystol and sits with the kids to watch a show. Mind you the kids havent seen him, except for a few rushed minutes over breakfast in the mornings, for a little over a month.
It’s the little things that make you so appreciative for what you have and the life you have been given! This man supports all of my dreams and crazy ideas, he works long hard hours to provide for us so that I can stay home with the kids, and he never complains, not once!
I watch him with our kids, teaching them, and I wonder and hope that they will take in every single moment and know how much their dad loves them and how hard he works. But mostly I hope they see how passionate he is about the work he does. How excited he gets when we have a good crop or when a new calf makes it through a cold and long winter night. How even the not so fun jobs get done with a smile on his face.
Thank you, not only to my hubby, but to all of you farmers working the busy seasons and every season in between!
